Area Manager - Miami Market
OVERVIEW:
Marc Jacobs International, driven by the visionary leadership of Marc Jacobs, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced multi-store Area Manager based in our Aventura store overseeing doors in the Miami Market. Area Managers have a direct impact on defining the retail experience for our diverse customers and employees. Each one is responsible for financial performance, retail experience, and operational duties for all Marc Jacobs retail locations across Miami—and must also ensure the Marc Jacobs brand is fluently being translated into the store experience with both customers and employees. Previous high-volume, multi-store fashion retail management experience within a competitive urban or luxury market, paired with strong leadership skills, will set you up for success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct store visits in district and report regularly to Regional Manager, VP of Stores, and HQ departments.
- Support with New Store Openings and Retail Talent Acquisition team for all openings in the district.
- Regularly identify opportunities to improve business (sales, employee engagement).
- Ensure district operates within provided budgets for store and market labor usage
- Hold teams accountable for delivering results: sales growth, productivity, talent development, community outreach, new product launches, and training.
- Follow and enforce protocols to ensure risk management and safety to brand protocols and operating procedures.
- Ensure that each Store Manager has the right knowledge to drive the business and develop their own teams while working according to the company strategy and guidelines.
- Manage and execute recruiting, on-boarding, training, developing, and succession planning for store management teams to build retention and reduce turnover.
- Lead biannual performance and development reviews for each of your direct reports; ensure fairness and accuracy of reviews across the District.
- Maintain an overview and ensure that all Employee Relations responsibilities are handled timely and appropriately in the district to ensure a positive work environment.
- Create an inclusive workplace culture by treating all teams and customers with respect.
- Backed by 3+ years in a multi-unit district management role at a complex, customer-focused, operationally excellent fashion retailer, with a proven track record of exceeding sales and reducing operational costs.
- Able to build, coach, and retain high-performing teams that meet sales, operational, and financial performance goals.
- Possesses both quantitative and analytical skills.
- A clear, honest, and empathetic communicator who's able to make tough decisions.
- An upbeat collaborator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Measurable improvements in cross-functional team efficiency and project completion rates
- A resourceful problem-solver and out-of-the-box thinker when faced with challenges.

- Willing to travel at least 60% of the time.
