Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks an Associate Designer join the Ready to Wear Team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000 - $75,000, annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. Marc Jacobs uses the published salary range as a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward all levels of expertise, performance, and tenure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design and development of innovative and original cut and sew designs that align with the Marc Jacobs brand aesthetic.
- Assist in researching global trends, techniques, and innovations to create forward-thinking design
- Translate seasonal concepts into initial design ideas under the guidance of senior designer and the Design Director
- Work in both 2D and 3D through sketching, draping, and mockups to support design exploration.
- Partner with the Graphics team to help integrate prints, artwork, and silhouette
- Collaborate with Product Development and Technical Design teams to support material selection, color execution, and construction refinement
- Create detailed technical sketches and tech packs to clearly communicate design intent, fabrication, and construction details
- Participate in fittings and provide observations to help maintain integrity of fit, proportion, and aesthetic
- Assist in preparing looks for internal presentations, style outs, and reviews.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date boards, reference libraries, and PLM data to support efficient workflows
- Identify opportunities for learning and skill development within the design process
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- 3 years of experience in fashion design, with a strong background in cut + sew
- Strong foundational understanding of fit, drape, and construction for cut + sew garments
- Strong taste level and brand awareness
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD sketching
- Experience working in PLM systems; Centric and/or PLM is preferred
- Understanding of basic fabric development and sourcing processes
- Strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to balance creative direction with commercial and production realities
